Griffin elan Form leather case

From my experience Griffin Technology has put out some fantastic cases for iPods. The elan Form hard-shell leather case for the iPod Touch is no different. While it looks kind of cheap and bland in the packaging, the elan Form's rugged leather appearance compliments the iPod touch nicely.

The all black case has a rough top-grain textured leather that looks kind of cheap by itself, but on the itouch it looks pretty sleek. The inner shell of the case is made of strong protective polycarbonate that fits the ipod snuggly. The case is two parts, the front faceplate and the back. They snap together over the ipod surprisingly securely. The ipod fits in safely and tightly. The elan Form is designed to come off using the twist of a coin at the corner of the case. This technique works well, allowing the case to be put on easily, stay on securely and be taken off without breaking anything.

When the elan Form is on the ipod, there is full access to the touch screen, on/off button and the dock connector/headphone jack. The case also comes with a static screen protector and a nice Griffin cleaning cloth.

The elan Form is a sturdy and stylish case for your iPod Touch. The durable polycarbonate shell provides adequate protection, and the grainy leather outer shell provides a look that goes well with the stylish black ipod. The notch feature for opening the case works nicely and creates a tight fitting lock. The only problem is the case is a little overpriced; while its made of strong polycarbonate and leather, you can get very stylish and high quality leather cases for just $5-10 more.

bottom line

A little overpriced for the quality of the leather, but the elan Form features a very sturdy polycarbonate shell and a nice notch design. Still a decent value if you're looking for a stylish look with ultimate protection.
